Less than a two-hour drive from Johannesburg and situated at the malaria-free, Big-5 Pilanesberg National Park, lies one of the most unforgettable bush getaways in South Africa. The park is home to healthy populations of lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo – Africa’s “Big Five”. A wide variety of rare and common species exist with endemic species like the nocturnal brown hyaena, the fleet-footed cheetah, the majestic sable, as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo and crocodile, to mention but a few. Bird watching is excellent with over 300 species recorded.  Stay in a luxury 4 star+ Bush Lodge that offers a unique bush getaway experience with a pool and various amenities. Itinerary: Day 1: You will be picked up at your hotel in Johannesburg or Pretoria to be taken to the lodge, located in the Pilanesberg National Park about a 2,5 hours drive. See the beautiful Hartbeespoortdam and Magalies Mountain range on the way, where the vehicle can stop at an African curio flea market on request. You will be treated with welcoming drinks on arrival at the lodge and then relax next to the pool or in your room. An afternoon game drive follows with experienced rangers for about 3 hours. Get ready for dinner at the excellent restaurant, or if available a boma BBQ. Day 2: Get up early for a 3 hour game drive where chances will be good to see lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo – Africa’s “Big Five”. This is followed by a scrumptious breakfast. You then have the opportunity to do some of the many optional activities, like Hot air balloon safaris over the Pilanesberg, Golfing at the Gary Player Golf Course, Water park activities at the Valley of Waves at the nearby Sun City resort, etc. You can also relax and do some of the activities offered by the lodge. An afternoon game drive follows with experienced rangers for about 3 hours. Get ready for dinner at the excellent restaurant, or if available a boma BBQ. Day 3: A sunrise safari or optional Hot air balloon safari over the Pilanesberg is followed by breakfast until you check out of the lodge. Your Tourist Guide will then take you to Sun City for more optional activities, like Golfing at the Gary Player Golf Course, Water park activities at the Valley of Waves, or head back to Johannesburg/Pretoria to select another optional tour in the surrounding areas. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation 60 days or more before departure: Amount paid less upfront costs. These upfront costs are disclosed to you when you use the Site to complete the transaction and may represent out of pocket expenses of TourSouthAfrica for accommodation bookings, transportation deposits and other additional expenses. Cancellation 59 to 31 days before departure: 50% of tour price, if paid in full. Cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the tour: 100% cancellation fee. (no refund) You are strongly encouraged to obtain cancellation insurance. In certain circumstances, this will cover the cost of cancellation. In some cases, TourSouthAfrica may cancel a tour due to weather or other circumstance. In the event that TourSouthAfrica cancels the tour, or does not deliver it as promised, You may choose between a rescheduling of the tour OR a 50% refund of all monies paid or a credit towards an alternative tour. If you choose to accept a credit, the difference in the cost of the alternative tour will be refunded by TourSouthAfrica or paid by You, as applicable. TourSouthAfrica is not responsible for any incidental expenses you may have incurred in reliance on the tour booked on the Site, including, without limitation, expenses arising from the purchase of visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights, or of any loss of enjoyment.
